Kershaw County is home to the National Steeplechase Museum which houses exhibits of memorabila and artifacts from National Steeplechase sites.
Kershaw County has two nationally renowned steeplechase races, the Carolina Cup in the spring and the Marion DuPont Scott Colonial Cup in the fall.
Camden is proclaimed as the “Steeplechase Capital of the World” and is home to two international steeplechase races: the Carolina Cup and the Colonial Cup.
Camden is the oldest inland city in South Carolina settled by Quakers and Scots in the 1750’s.
Ten (10) international companies call Kershaw County home employing over 1/3 of the manufacturing workforce in the County.
Camden is home of the the 3rd oldest active polo field in America.

The Camden Country Club is one of South Carolina’s oldest golf courses opening in 1903 with Donald Ross as its designer.
Each 9th grader in the Kershaw County School District is issued a computer laptop to use during their four year high school career. The I-Can laptop initiative has received numerous national awards for technological innovation.
SAT scores for the Kershaw County School District are routinely at or above the national average.
Camden was the site of two Revolutionary War battles and is the home of the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site.
The Camden Historic District encompasses much of downtown and includes 63 historic sites and homes.
Lake Wateree, a 13,000-acre lake, includes 241 miles of shoreline and is ideal for fishing, boating, and water skiing.
The Camden Antique District, located in downtown Camden, includes 17 antique shops and malls.
Haier's Camden facility has been published in 17 national publications since locating here in 1999 including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes, and Fortune.
