Target Distribution Center
Lugoff, SC
Target Corporation opened its regional distribution center in Lugoff, SC in June 2003. The 1.8 million square foot facility serves Target stores in SC, NC, GA, and VA. With over 40acres under roof, the Target facility is easily the single largest building in Kershaw County. The site is designed to handle parking for over 1,200 trailers and 775 automobiles. A walk around the building is 1.5 miles. The facility includes 7.5 miles of conveyors and 238 overhead doors.
This project represents the second largest investment and job creation announcement in Kershaw County history. The distribution center is located on 184 acres in the Heritage Pointe Industrial Park, and is one of the 27 distribution and import centers in the Target network.
In 2008, Target announced the expansion of their Lugoff distribution center with the addition of 450,000 SF to the original 1.35 million SF. Since its completion in 2009, this center is now the largest in the company's network. Capital investment for the project is $75 million.
