INVISTA, formerly known as the DuPont May Plant, has a long history in Kershaw with the construction of the current facility in 1950. Koch Industries purchased the DuPont business in 2003. INVISTA manufactures nylon fiber for the commercial flooring business. Since it’s opening in 1950, INVISTA has been the County’s largest private sector employer and taxpayer.
Located on 600 acres on the Wateree River, the INVISTA site has been the chosen location for several expansions over the years most recently a $200 million project in 1998 and a major expansion in 2002 and 2006.
