Ahlstrom Nonwovens purchased the former BBA Nonwovens business in 2007. The Bethune facility produces specialty wipes for a variety of customers and applications. In 2007, Ahlstrom announced a significant expansion to its Kershaw County operation with the addition of two new product lines. This expansion represents a capital investment of $11 million and the creation of 144 new jobs.
