Automotive Industry

As the automotive industry continues to grow in the Southeast and in South Carolina, Kershaw County is primed to take advantage of this growth. Already, the County is home to a small but growing base of automotive related manufacturers. South Carolina Yutaka Technologies (catalytic converters), Dana Corporation (trailer modules), TB Kawashima USA, Inc. (car seat fabric), Forgitron (aluminum wheels), and Hengst of North America (filter elements) all serve the US automotive market. In 2005, Kershaw County added two new automotive suppliers in Hengst and Forgitron with a cumulative investment of $26 million and 95 jobs.
